Sadly, a man has died following a house fire on Romsey Road in Dagenham.
Half of the first floor of a terraced house was damaged by fire. One man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews, where he sadly later died.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received their first call alerting them to the fire at 0421. They sent three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Barking and Dagenham fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0504.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
