Sadly, a woman has died following a fire at a retirement block of flats on Reigate Road in Bromley.
A flat on the first floor of the three-storey block was completely destroyed by fire. Sadly one woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0422 and the fire was under control by 0554. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Lee Green, Bromley, Lewisham and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
