Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire on Tom Jenkinson Road in Silvertown.

A range of homes and gardens were affected by the incident.

The first floor, second floor and roof of one terraced house was damaged by fire. Two further homes were also damaged along with three garden sheds. Two sheds belonging to properties on Beaulieu Avenue were also damaged. A further property on Evelyn Road was also damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade's Control Officers received around 65 calls about the fire.

The first call was received at 1546 and Control Officers mobilised crews from East Ham, Sidcup, Barking, Greenwich, Deptford and Peckham fire stations to the scene.
