Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire at an industrial site off Rosebery Avenue, Tottenham.
Half of the ground floor of a workshop was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Residents in the immediate area were advised to keep doors and windows closed where possible as crews responded.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 2238, and crews from Tottenham, Walthamstow, Stoke Newington and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters had the incident under control by 2359.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
