Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at waste depot on Advent Way in Edmonton.
A small part of a steam turbine was damaged by fire. No injuries are reported.
The Brigade's 999 Control officers received their first call alerting them to the fire at 1742. They mobilised fire crews from Edmonton, Chingford and Walthamstow fire stations. The fire was under control by 1922.
Fire investigators believe the cause of the fire is due to self-heating oil on lagging.
