Roof terrace fire - Dalston

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire on a roof terrace on Bradbury Street in Dalston.

Most of the wooden decking on a roof terrace, which was part of a building comprising of a ground floor shop with flats above, was destroyed by the blaze.

Around 25 residents left the building before the Brigade arrived. Thankfully no injuries are reported.

The Brigade's 999 Control officers were first called at 1945 and they mobilised fire crews from Stoke Newington, Islington, Shoreditch and Holloway fire stations. The fire was under control by 2109.

The cause of the fire is accidental and due to a lighting fault.
