Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a house fire on Brancaster Road in Manor Park.
Most of the first floor and most of the loft of a mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. One child was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade received the first of 11 calls at 1749 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Plaistow, Leyton, Stratford, Dagenham, Leytonstone and Woodford fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1924.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
