Five fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a fire on Billet Road in Chadwell Heath.
Firefighters tackled a fire which damaged around 16 cars, two large storage containers and part of an office building, there were no injuries reported. The Brigade's Control Officers received over 30 calls about the fire.
A number of cylinders were at the property, these were cooled to an ambient temperature and removed as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 1359, and crews from Dagenham, Romford, Ilford and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene. The fire was under control by 1617.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
