Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop with dwellings above on Bryant Avenue in Romford.
Most of the second floor was damaged by the fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers took the first of five calls at 2159 and mobilised crews from Harold Hill, Romford, Hornchurch and Dagenham fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 2353.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
