Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a fire at a scrap yard on Dennises Lane in Upminster this morning.
Firefighters tackled a fire at a scrap yard where five scrap cars were destroyed, a caravan was partly damaged and a hedgerow and fence were destroyed. No injuries were reported.
The Brigade was called at 1050, fire crews from Hornchurch, Wennington, Dagenham and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene. The fire was under control by 1236.
The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Brigade's Fire Investigation Team.
