Flat fire - Crofton Park

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a flat fire on Brockley Road, Crofton Park.  

A flat above a commercial unit was heavily damaged by fire. A woman was rescued from the second floor of the building by firefighters using a 9m ladder. A second woman was rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus from an internal staircase. A man also left the property before crews arrived.  All three were treated on scene and removed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.  

The Brigade received the first of 13 calls reporting the fire at 0805, and firefighters from Lewisham, New Cross and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control by 0903.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
