Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at an office block on Cabot Square in Canary Wharf.

A small part of a fourteenth floor roof garden was destroyed by the fire. Around 100 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. Thankfully, no injuries are reported.

One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene to help fight the fire from above.

The Brigade was called at 1713 and the Brigade's 999 Control officers received 15 calls alerting them to the fire. They deployed crews from Poplar, Shadwell, Whitechapel and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1857.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
