Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters attended a fire on Sutton High Street.
The fire was situated in a building with a restaurant on the ground floor and flats above. Ducting running from the first floor to the roof, part of the first floor and part of the roof were damaged by the fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1441 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Sutton, Wallington, Mitcham, Wimbledon, New Malden and surrounding fire stations to the scene. A 32 metre turntable ladder from Clapham fire station also attended. The fire was brought under control at 2037.
The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Brigade's Fire Investigation Team and the Metropolitan Police Service.
