Firefighters were called to a building collapse at the junction of Central Avenue and Wickham Street in Welling.
A building which was under demolition partially collapsed onto the highway and scaffolding was in a precarious position.
Crews made the scene safe and a safety cordon was put in place as a precaution. One man went to hospital.
The Brigade was called at 1318 and the incident was over firefighters by 1421. One fire engine from Plumstead Fire Station was at the scene.
