Join us at Borough Market to meet the team from Southwark!
Our firefighters and Fire Safety Officers will be at Borough Market on Thursday 24 July, between 10am and 4pm, engaging with the community, local businesses and visitors about key fire safety risks.
Look out for our interactive stalls near the fire engine where you can learn more about:
- The dangers of lithium-ion batteries
- Staying safe in hot weather
- Fire safety for homes located above businesses
- Our Home Fire Safety Checker
Throughout the day, our Fire Safety Officers will also be visiting local businesses with residential accommodation above, providing expert advice on how to keep their premises and residents safe.
Southwark has had the highest number of residential dwelling fires in London, and our team is working hard to reduce these risks through direct engagement and safety awareness.
Since 2024, Southwark firefighters have completed over 1,500 Home Fire Safety Visits, reaching more than 3,400 residents. Let’s keep that momentum going. Come speak with us, ask questions, and learn how to protect your home or business.
