Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Tyneham Road in Battersea.
Thee ground floor of the property was damaged by fire. Sadly one man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1140 and the fire under control at 1208. Fire crews from Clapham, Battersea, Chelsea and West Norwood fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
