Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat in Bethwin Road in Oval.
Part of a first floor flat was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1716 and the fire was under control at 1753. Fire crews from Peckham and Lambeth fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
