Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats in Windlass Place in Surrey Quays.
A flat on the fourth floor was damaged by fire.
The Brigade's 999 control officers took more than 25 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1406 and the fire was under control at 1451. Fire crews from Greenwich, Deptford, New Cross and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
