Firefighters rescued three people from a fire at a flat in London Road, Thornton Heath.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus led two women and one man to safety through an internal staircase. They were then assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service.
A small part of a first floor flat was damaged by fire. One woman left the property before the arrival of the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 1216 and the fire was under control at 1242. Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers from Norbury fire station attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
