Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Stevenson Close in Slade Green.
Most of the ground and first floors of a semi detached house were damaged by fire. One woman was rescued by a member of the public before the arrival of the Brigade. She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1518 and the fire was under control at 1630. Fire crews from Erith, Bexley and Plumstead attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
