Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats in Silchester Road, North Kensington.
A small part of a flat on the 16th floor of the building was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1247 and the fire was under control at 1336. Fire crews from Kensington, Hammersmith and Paddington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire was accidental and believed to have been caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette.
