Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a flat on Longfield, Bromley BR1 on Friday evening (9 February).
A very small fire had already been extinguished before the arrival of the Brigade and one man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. Sadly, he later died in hospital.
Fourteen firefighters from Bromley and Beckenham fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2103.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Police.
