Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at house in Halsmere Road, Brixton.
A small part of a bungalow was damaged by fire. One man was rescued by firefighters. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1152 and the fire was under control at 1225. Fire crews from Peckham, Brixton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
