Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on Valley Grove in Charlton.
A small part of a balcony on the fifth floor of a 17-storey block was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2135 and the fire was under control by 2217. Fire crews from East Greenwich, Greenwich, Plumstead and Deptford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
