Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a maisonette on Norman Crescent in Hounslow.
Half of a six-roomed maisonette on the second and third floors of a four-storey building was damaged by the fire. One man was rescued from the second floor via an internal staircase by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. He was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0639 and the fire was under control by 0719. Fire crews from Feltham, Hayes and Heston fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
