A man was rescued by firefighters from a fire at a flat in Bravington Road, West Kilburn.

Part of a four roomed flat on the second floor was damaged by fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus led one man to safety via an internal staircase.

The Brigade was called at 1729 and the fire was under control by 1805. Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters from North Kensington Fire Station attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is believed to be combustible material left too close to a gas hob.
