Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Graham Street in Islington.
Part of a lift car on the fourth floor was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0937 and the fire was under control by 1137. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Islington, Euston and Holloway fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
