Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters dealt with a fire at a derelict industrial unit on Wick Lane in Bow.
Half of the first floor was damaged by the blaze. A man discovered the blaze and called 999. The Brigade’s control room received seventeen 999 calls to the fire.
Seven people evacuated the property before the Brigade arrived. A man suffering smoke inhalation was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0142 and the fire was under control by 0252. Fire crews from Homerton, Bethnal Green and Stratford fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
