Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at an industrial park on Church Road in Hounslow.

Half of an industrial unit was damaged by fire. The alarm was raised by members of the public who saw smoke rising from the building. There were no reports of any injuries.

Station Officer Noel Hanson said: “Great efforts from firefighters meant that we were able to contain the fire to just one unit and prevent the flames from spreading further and causing more damage.”

The Brigade was called at 2134 and the fire was under control by 2344. Fire crews from Heston, Southall, Feltham, Hayes, Heathrow and surrounding stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire officers and the police.
