Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at an underground electrical substation on Gloucester Road in South Kensington.

Part of a single storey electrical substation was damaged by fire and the power supply was isolated by UK Power Networks. A 25 metre cordon was put in place as a precaution whilst crews worked to make the scene safe. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 0011 and the fire was under control by 0222. Fire crews from Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham and Hammersmith fire stations attended the scene.

The fire is believed to have been caused by water coming into contact with an electrical supply.
