Shed alight - Forest Gate

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a shed alight on Shrewsbury Road in Forest Gate.

A garden shed at the rear of an end of terraced house was destroyed by the fire and part of the first floor and roof of an adjoining property were also damaged.

One man and one woman left the adjoining property before the Brigade arrived. They were treated on scene for smoke inhalation but were not taken to hospital.

The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 17 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 2000 and the fire was under control by 2126. Fire crews from East Ham, Stratford, Ilford and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
