Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Warley Avenue in Dagenham.
Part of the dining area on the ground floor of the semi-detached house was damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1531 and the fire was under control by 1542. Fire crews from Dagenham and Ilford fire stations were in attendance.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault within a water cooler.
