Hotel fire - Borough

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a hotel on Great Dover Street in Borough.

Half of a room on the first floor of the three-storey building was damaged by the fire. One man left the room before the Brigade arrived. The man and one woman were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 1326 and the fire was under control by 1428. Fire crews from Dowgate, Dockhead, Soho and Peckham fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
