Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on Pickard Street in Islington.
Part of a flat on the fourth floor of an 18-storey block was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1040 and the fire was under control by 1112. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Islington, Euston, Dowgate, Whitechapel and Shadwell fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
