Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire in a block of flats under construction on West Hill, South Croydon.
Part of the ground floor of the four storey block was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0610 and the fire was under control by 0803. Fire crews from Croydon, Purley and Woodside fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
