Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with flats above on Green Lane in Ilford.
Part of the ground floor and first floor were damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2119 and the fire was under control by 2239. Fire crews from East Ham, Stratford, Plaistow and Leytonstone fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
