House fire - Orpington

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Cray Avenue in Orpington.

Part of the ground floor, first floor and staircase of the property were damaged by fire.

Sadly one woman was pronounced dead at the scene. One man was taken to hospital where he sadly later died.

The Brigade was called at 2315 (Monday, May 27) and the fire was under control at 0031 (Tuesday, May 28). Fire crews from Orpington and Sidcup fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
