Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Reede Road in Dagenham.
Half of the first floor and part of the roof of an end of terrace house were damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1200 and the fire was under control by 1259. Fire crews from Barking, Dagenham and Hornchurch fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
