Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with flats above on Mollison Drive in Wallington.
A small part of the ground floor shop and some ducting (the property's ventilation system) was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1840 and the incident was over by 1918.
Fire crews from Wallington, Croydon, Purley fire stations were at the scene.
