Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Le May Avenue in Grove Park.
The first floor of the semi-detached house was destroyed by the fire and most of the ground floor was damaged. A small part of the loft space of the adjoining property was also damaged.
Seven people were evacuated from neighbouring properties as a precaution. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 14 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 0519 and the fire as under control by 0716. Fire crews from Lee Green, Bromley, Eltham and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
