A horse named Sonny was rescued by firefighters after he collapsed at a farm on Ockendon Road in Upminster.

The 30-year-old horse had fallen and crews were called to assist the vet in getting him upright again.

A fire rescue unit and a fire engine from Bexley and Romford fire stations attended the scene and crews used specialist equipment to bring him to his feet.

He was left in the care of the vet.

The Brigade was called by 0907 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1019.
