Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire in High Road, Wood Green.
One first floor flat was destroyed and another was damaged by the fire.
A man was rescued from the second floor by firefighters using a ladder. A woman left the building before the arrival of the Brigade and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service as a precaution.
The Brigade was called at 1041 and the fire was under control by 1237. Fire crews from Hornsey and Tottenham Fire Stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
