Fire at sheltered accommodation – Croydon

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to a fire at a sheltered accommodation block on Chart Close in Croydon.

Part of a ground floor flat in the four-storey building was damaged by fire. Two women left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews and one woman was taken to hospital.

The Brigade was called at 0100 and the fire was under control by 0135. Fire crews from Twickenham and Croydon fire stations attended the scene.
