Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats under construction on Reedham Drive in Purley.
Part of the first floor of the three storey-block of flats was damaged by fire. Most of the second floor was also damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade took a total of 44 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1607 and the fire was under control by 1831. Fire crews from Wallington, Croydon, Woodside, Norbury and Wimbledon fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
