Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Weymouth Terrace in Hackney.
Half of a ground floor bin room was damaged by fire. Around 100 people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2020 and the fire was under control by 2123. Fire crews from Soho, Holloway, Old Kent Road and Lambeth fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
