Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire on Overdale Road in Ealing.
A pile of rubbish behind a row of garages was alight. Crews also removed a propane cylinder and cooled it to an ambient temperature as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1510 and the fire was under control by 1654. Fire crews from Ealing, Chiswick, Heston and Southall fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
