Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Mornington Road in Chingford.
Half of the loft and a small part of the roof and fascia of a semi-detached house were damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1041 and the fire was under control by 1149. Fire crews from Chingford and Enfield fire stations were at the scene along with colleagues from Essex Fire and Rescue Service.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
