House fire - Balham

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Oldridge Road in Balham.

Half of the first floor of a mid-terraced house of two storeys was damaged by the fire. Two women left the property before the Brigade arrived. They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 19 calls to the blaze.

The Brigade was called at 1439 and the fire was under control by 1526. Fire crews from Tooting, Battersea and Lambeth fire stations attended.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
