Fire at recycling centre - Beddington

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a recycling centre on Beddington Lane in Beddington. 

A pile of mixed household waste was destroyed by the fire and a single-storey waste unit was damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 24 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 1023 and the fire was under control by 1924. Fire crews from Wallington, Croydon and Norbury attended.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
