Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant on Berwick Street in Soho.
Part of the basement was damaged by fire and the ground floor was damaged by smoke. Four people left the building before the Brigade arrived and one man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1127 and the fire was under control by 1231. Fire crews from Shadwell, Islington, Paddington and Lambeth fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to be accidental.
